Can Dodo handle the construction work too?

We might be sometimes called a jack-of-all-trades, but we’re not builders! We handle all the design, planning, construction drawings, and administrative tasks. But don't worry - we can put you in touch with reliable contractors in your area to take care of the construction.

Does Dodo support the project through planning?

Absolutely! We’re here to guide you through the entire planning process. Our comprehensive packages include preparing all the necessary drawings and submitting them to the council on your behalf. We’ll liaise with them right up until we get a decision.

Does Dodo support the project through construction?

Yes. We offer construction drawing packages too which will ensure you start the build with your best foot forward. We can also connect you with trusted contractors in your area. Our detailed report will clearly outline the professionals you’ll need to bring your project to life.

Can I trust Dodo?

Definitely! Whilst our setup is predominantly remote, you'll always be speaking directly with our team from your first inquiry. If you prefer, we also offer an onsite measured survey and consultation service. Our team have a minimum of 10 years architectural experience and are registered with the relevant professional bodies, ensuring your project is in expert hands. How can I increase the value of my home?

How much does an architect cost in the UK?

It varies across the UK, but most practices will advise you to budget between 5-12% of the overall build cost (an amount you basically don’t even know yet). If you’re just after some drawings to get you through planning, the market average for a single storey extension is around £2,000, and for a new build it’s £4,000. Absolutely! Our work is fully insured, with professional indemnity coverage up to £2 million.

Will Dodo visit my property?

If required, yes. We will usually start with a measured survey of your property to ensure accuracy. However, our service is predominantly remote, allowing us to efficiently work with you from a distance. If you’d rather it stay that way - that’s OK with us, but we’ll need a few more bits from you, like photos and measurements.

What happens if I'm unhappy with Dodo's service or output?

Your satisfaction is our priority. If you're not happy, just reach out to us, and we'll do everything we can to make it right.

Can I request additional renders/perspectives from Dodo?

Absolutely! We're here to bring your vision to life and help you imagine it. We actually love doing renders, so get in touch if you need more!

How does Dodo handle payments?

Once you've received an invoice from us, you can easily settle the payment via bank transfer. Simply follow the instructions provided on the invoice to initiate the transfer - easy peasy!

When should I consider submitting a pre-application to the council?

If your project is complex or contentious, we might suggest a pre-application. It's a low-cost way to get feedback from the council before diving into the full planning process.
